One of the first things J said after we found out we were expecting a girl was –

“I feel like this just got very expensive”.

Oh honey, that’s because it did.

I don’t know if you know this – but shopping for little girls is SO MUCH FUN.  The bows, the dresses, the ruffles…I love it all.

So you can imagine my delight when I stumbled across one of the most adorable little online shops.

Oh Cecelia has some of the most darling (and affordable!) things for your little one.

I mean, this swimsuit. There are no words.

And you’d better believe I ordered this Claire dress for G the second I laid eyes on it.  How cute will this be for this summer? I wanted to put her in this yesterday but she decided getting pink eye and parading around the house with pants on her head was more fun. You do you, sister.

And can we just have a moment for the Paisley dress?  I love it so.

But, let’s be honest, I’m a bow lover most of all.  And these Cece bows are so great.

I love the big floppy bow, and the nice wide band on these head bands.  What could be better than the Cece bow?

Oh, this. This could be better:

And I’m so thrilled that I’m going to be able to give away one of these beauties to one of you!

Please use the widget below to enter.  The giveaway will be up through the end of the day Thursday, March 26th and a winner will be announced Friday.  This is where I also get out of the way that I was not compensated by Oh Cecelia for this post, all opinions are my own, yadda yadda.  And Oh Cecelia is providing the prize…because she’s fab like that.

Today I’m linking up with Narci, Andrea & Erika to share some of my favorites. And today it’s all about dat bow.  And I have a giveaway for one of these bows next week – so stay tuned! (UPDATE: Click HERE to enter the giveaway!)

I’m just going to cut to the chase.

I love a little girl in a big bow. Or a little bow. Or a head band.

Any kind of head adornment will do, really. I love them all and I do not discriminate.

Clearly.

Since finding out I was having a girl, I have purchased all manner of bows from all manner of places.  Etsy, local stores, Facebook shops, younameit.  Here are a few of my favorite bow shops:

one

The Hairbow Company

I love these bows and, by far, this is what G wears the most.  They are so well priced and just great basics.  The best part is they sell bows & headbands that you can interchange – so you get a lot of bang for your buck. The crochet headbands (G is wearing one in this post) are fantastic and you can clip bows to them – or they are cute by themselves!  I bought a variety pack of their grosgrain bows and couldn’t be more pleased with the look and quality. Below is our Hairbow Company set up.

Oh and also?  They are super affordable.  $15 will get you a dozen bows. You cannot beat it.

Oh Cecelia

Ya’ll.  I love this little shop.  She has the most DARLING things for little girls and they are so well priced.  And her bows? So precious.  Her “cece” bows are particularly cute – and she just came out with a lace version.

And I get to give one of those away next week!

How sweet would one of those be with your little girl’s Easter outfit? THE SWEETEST.  Stop back by here on Monday to enter the giveaway.

Last, but certainly not least is By Sophia Baby on etsy.

These bows are a little bit pricier but they are gorgeous.  Just – really beautiful quality and things we will wear for a long, long time.

G wore this one for her church dedication:

I just couldn’t love this headband more if I tried.  It is so soft and lovely and girly.  It was just perfect for her big debut at church (and like I mentioned yesterday, probably the reason the pastor called her a “lady of fashion”).

And I’m coveting this little beauty:

Surely there’s an occasion that we will need that for soon, right?

One can only hope.

Don’t forget to swing back by on Monday for a chance to win a Cece Bow!

I should have seen this coming. The propensity to be a social butterfly has been around for quite some time.

A few weeks after G started daycare, one of her teachers told me that she woke up one of the other babies during nap time.

“Oh gosh! I’m sorry!’ I said, thinking that my non-napping child simply squawked loudly and was disturbing the other babies in the room.

“She stuck her hand threw the crib and waved in her friend’s face until she woke up”

Oh. Well then. That’s, um, aggressively friendly.

And a few months before that, we were meeting with some people at our church.   She reached right out for the pastor’s father, whom she had never met. He happily took her. And walked right out of the room with her.  I followed a few minutes later and saw that she was smiling and waving at everyone in the lobby.

I’m partial, but I mean, what a charmer. She and the pastor’s dad are still buddies.  He even did her church dedication.  He called her a “lady of fashion” and informed the congregation that she would make friends quickly.

Oh, and the waving? It hasn’t stopped.

This is my child. She is waving at….ducks? The houses across the pond? The fence?

Who knows.

Waving. It’s her default.  We enter a room, she waves. She hears someone on the phone, she waves. Mickey Mouse comes on TV…you guessed it, big wave.

And yesterday when I picked her up from school her teacher told me that she had a GREAT day.  Except for when she got fussy mid afternoon.  I glanced at her sheet and saw that she had taken 2 naps so I asked what made her fussy, since it seemed like she slept pretty well.

“All of her friends were asleep. She didn’t have anyone to play with so she fussed and pointed and waved at them in their cribs. We ended up taking her to the gym so she could play with the big kids”.

Bless. Her. Heart.

I love this little girl’s sweet spirit.  I hope she always has sweet friends, and I hope she is always a good friend to others.

Now we just need to teach her to let her friends sleep.

(No one likes the girl who disturbs nap time.)

(Even if she is the cutest little waver you ever did see.)
